Join Joan Hyman, director of The School of Yoga, for five days of intense practice and connecting to a mindful community of yogis, all on the same path of transformation and inner balance.  These five days will include themed practices, pranayama, and restoratives to support both physical vitality and mental clarity.

Each session is thoughtfully crafted to deepen body awareness, enhance mobility, and cultivate a sense of grounding within.  Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga, these workshops will offer a supportive environment to expand your practice and deepen your understanding of yoga.

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION

Participation in a scheduled workshop can only be cancelled in writing. Cancellations can be made by sending an email to: info@soham.yoga If the cancellation occurs after full payment for the workshop has been received, the refund will be for the entire amount:

  • More than 60 days before the start of the workshop, 70% refund.

  • From 60 to 31 days before the start of the workshop, 50% refund.

  • From 0 to 30 days before the start of the workshop, no refund will be given.

Thursday 17 September –  Unraveling our Shoulders

  • Release tension from the neck and shoulders in this upper body practice designed to create space and ease in an area that is often tight and congested.

Friday 18 September –  Unwind with Twisting

17.30 - 19.00

  • Experience the revitalizing power of yoga twists in this dynamic and restorative practice designed to reset the body and mind. We will end with pranayama and quieting poses.

WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

Saturday morning 19 September  – Centering the Pelvis

09.30 - 12.00

Discover the power of pelvic awareness in this in-depth workshop designed to help you find balance and stability within. By learning to center and align the pelvis, you will work from a centered place that is connected to your core. Unlock greater ease and movement and enhance the flow of energy through your entire body.

The pelvis is the bridge between the upper and lower body, and is also known as the fulcrum point, where all rotation happens around.  Learn more about the anatomy of the pelvis, core integration, and applied practice exploring key asanas like externally rotated standing and seated postures that support pelvic alignment and energetic grounding.

This workshop is for students seeking to better understand the postures, teachers who want to refine alignment cues and adjustments, and anyone experiencing lower back or hip discomfort in the practice.

Saturday Afternoon – Inversions for Everyone – Finding balance and courage upside down

Flip your world upside down with confidence and ease in this fun workshop designed to help make inversions accessible to everyone! This workshop will help you build strength and cultivate inner balance by teaching safe progressions, alignment principles, and supportive modifications with use of the props for everybody.

You will learn how to prepare the shoulders, core, and hamstrings to effectively go upside down and stay there!

This workshop is open to all levels and is especially beneficial for those who want to:

  • Build strength and confidence

  • Learn safe and supportive ways to invert

  • Experience the calming and energizing effects of being upside down

Sunday 20 September – The Art of Backbending ….Going Deeper

13.30 - 16.00

Awaken your spine in this immersive workshop dedicated to deepening your backbend practice. Through mindful sequencing, intelligent alignment cues, and supportive use of the props, you will learn how to approach backbends with both strength and ease, creating space and vitality throughout the body.

Backbends can energize and transform our entire systems and true depth in backbending comes from stability and integration. This workshop will explore how to safely progress by engaging the legs, core, and support of your breath to engage the entire spine and unlock the heart center.

You will learn how to balance effort and surrender with these challenging postures and understand why these poses are so transformative. You will leave feeling deeply nourished and open on every level.
